Rules and Scoring:
All races must be USAT sanctioned.
Failure to sanction the race will result in the race being pulled from the series
Note:  In order to receive series point for a given race an athlete must be a USAT annual member at the time of the race. If you become a USAT member during the series races before you become a member -- events raced prior to receiving USAT membership will not count in the series point scoring.

Scoring will be done based on the USAT National age group rankings procedures.

  1. The Regional Series Championship race will be worth 1.25 times your pts (will also count as the tie breaker race). but will only count as completing 1 race

  2. You must finish 3 races to be eligible for awards.

  3. Your best 5 scores will be counted. If you finish more than 5 races your lowest scores will be dropped.

  4. The M/F individuals with the top 3 Overall highest scores will be declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd Overall
    in the series.

  5. The M/F 40 and over with the highest score will be declared the Overall Master winner.

  6. The top 3 scores in each age group 19 & under to 80 and over in 5 yr increments.

  7. No double dipping is allowed. You can not win an Overall or Masters award and an Age Group award.

  8. If a masters athlete finishes in the top 3 overall he/she must decide if they want the overall award or the masters title. You are not eligible to win more than 1 overall award.

  9. Your age group is based on your age as of Dec. 31, 2004. This is the same procedure USAT uses for Nationals rankings.

  10.  Since this series is using the USAT national age group ranking procedures (with the exception of the regional championship race as that counts as 1.25 times your pts) only age group athletes are eligible for points or series awards.

  11. If there is a tie in points the person with the most points at the series championship race will be declared the winner. If there still is a tie the person with the most points at the regional championship race will be declared the winner. If there still is a tie after this the position will then result in a tie and equally sharing of the prizes.

  12. Decisions of the USAT Mid-Atlantic Region Triathlon Series Committee are final.
